This was an intense and heartbreaking story of escape and rebuilding after a nightmare that made the MFC the fearless woman she is. One who would do anything to protect those she loves as well as the man she comes to love. You will cheer for her.
And I was hooked from the beginning!
When Emma has to treat an armed and wounded gangster in the ER, she never knew it would pull her back into a past she thought she’d escaped. She and her sister ran away from that life a long time ago and she’s not going back.
Fiero sees the nurse who treated that traitor that went after his boss. At a different time, he would have acted upon his attraction to her but he was here on business. When he sees a hit man studying the nurse, he knows who sent him. He can’t allow that. He swore years ago to protect innocent women and children from his evil brother’s flesh trade but when she sees him taking out her attacker, he has no choice but to take her as well. She’s seen too much.
Why does she look so familiar and look at him like she recognizes him?
Their lives are intertwined in more ways than he could ever guess and she has to get away from him before he realizes who she is. Why her body reacts to him like it does, she doesn’t know. She doesn’t want him no matter what her body says.
His body reacts to hers the same way and at first he fights it but he still enjoys it. By the time he sees the signs of abuse on her body, he knows two things. This one had me on a white-knuckled emotional roller coaster ride and I loved it! The love that bloomed from their rocky start was all consuming and his “mia caramellina” is the one he will burn the world to keep safe.

Fiero is hunting his boss’ uncle after the gun fight and tracks him to the small hospital where he finds the ER nurse who should have information that could help him. But one of the uncle’s goons is there too and he wants to kill her. Fiero kills him, but Mia witnesses this act and he finds himself obliged to take her with him. Slowly, all kinds of feelings enter the scene, complicated by their hidden history. In this series of mafia men, who are criminals and killers, but also honorable (as far as that goes), protective of the people they love and caring individuals. Love them and love their stories!

PERFECTLY TWISTED
As book three of the Vicious Mafia Kings series, I was thinking we were going to have a breakthrough in who the big bad villain pulling the strings was, but V.T. Bonds is brilliant in her writing and just draws you in deeper. The sad history for these two characters, has a depth of feeling and emotion that as a reader you cannot help but be drawn into their story, endure the heartache and grow with the love that develops. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and this continuing series, V.T. Bonds is an amazing author and I want more Vicious Mafia Kings who will do anything to protect their Queens!

Twisted Vows is a worthwhile, compelling mafia suspense story with a ton of emotion and searing hot spice throughout. The author packed this story with intense mafia action so just know that the characters are threatened around every turn, finding themselves in bloody battles, graphically described. I don’t think this story was any more violent than the others in the series but be aware if you are sensitive to such scenes. Personally, I wouldn’t have my mafia romances any other way, and I really enjoyed this story and the characters. Emma and Fiero are memorable together. I love how V.T. writes her wonderful characters! Emma was so strong and fierce in guarding her sister. And Fiero was ultra-dominating but possessed a heart of gold. I recommend! Emma/Mia is just doing her job when the world she left behind in her past (as Emma) literally comes crashing into her present. Living everyday on pins and needle isn’t great, but whatever she can do to provide a normal as normal can be life for her younger sister is worth it.
Fiero is on the hunt for the man who tried to take out his boss when he comes across Emma/Mia. She looks familiar but he can’t seem to recall if they’ve meet before or not. They must not have as there would be no way he would ever forget someone as delectable as she.
Neither one expects their past demons to catch up to them. The question is whether or not they’ll be able to overcome them. Alone, probably not. Together… well, let’s hope they both can make it out in one peace and find their HEA.
I really enjoyed this one. Fiero, although stern, was very playful and sensual towards Emma/Mia. Their chemistry was totally HOT! Definitely a great addition to this series!
