Drowned by the Dreadnought (The Knottiverse: Alphas of the Waterworld #8)
“Open your mouth, little mouse, before I add another hole to your punishment.”
-Russt
With my abusive father finally dead, I flee into the dangerous, overcrowded halls, willing to fight the world for my freedom, only to come face to face with someone I never thought I’d see again.
No longer the sweet boy of my dreams, The Dreadnought, a massive, terrifying alpha with a blood curdling reputation, stares down at me in contempt. I don’t know why he hates me as much as I hate him, but I don’t stick around to find out.
He chases me. Captures me.
And promises to punish me until I break.
Light on plot, heavy on spice, dive into this ‘quick read’ dark dystopian human omegaverse romance knowing you’ll find triggering content, including a possessive alpha, a reluctant omega, and a delicious battle of wills that ends in Happily Ever After.

4.5 stars!
Drowned by the Dreadnought is the final book in this series and it packed a steamy emotional punch. Morwenna encounters an Alpha from her past that she thought would be her forever. Alpha Russt sees Morwenna and claims her as his. He wants revenge but everything these two thought they knew changes quickly.
Emotional and steamy, I loved these two together. Morwenna was strong and cute and Russt was an Alpha to fall in love with.
“I won’t leave you. Ever. Expect to be by my side every second of every day for the rest of our lives. You’re mine, little mouse, and I’m never letting you go again.”
I’ve loved this world and I’m sad to leave it. Can’t wait to see what’s next!!

Amazing finale to this spicy series. Russt and Morwenna were childhood friends who were ripped apart due to deception and lies. Russt initially is out for revenge, but things turn after he discovers the truth. Morwenna forgave quickly, but she was also a slave to her dynamic and their past history. Their spicy interactions after the truth was revealed were even hotter in my opinion. Short story, but oh so good.

Omigosh…so hot! 😳 As VT says, she writes “wonderful filth,” and that is so wonderfully true. Number #8, Drowned by the Dreadnought, is the last story in this series and I will really miss the characters in all these books. But perhaps I’ll miss Russt and Morwenna the most. To me, they seemed the most likely to carve a successful future for themselves out of the dystopic, watery hell in which all humans were forced to live. VT created a fantastic world in her Alphas of the Waterworld series, peopled it with very appealing characters, and always ended the stories on a hopeful note. I know I’ll be reading this series over again soon. I received an early copy to read, and this is my honest review.
Shawna –
Great Story and Smoking hot! I love the virginal heroine and the big sexy protective alpha- very likable characters. The storyline was original with the whole water world theme. The action from the start was a plus; it definitely held my interest. The love scenes that were sexy but they had history and had real love for each other A++ breeding A+++
Gabrielle –
Morwenna and Russt are hot and sexy. The two were meant for each other and nothing will get in the way. Lies and abuse have torn these two apart but once they come together and look to the future instead of the past nothing can stop them.
I loved Morwenna and Russt. It was nice to see the softer side of Russt that only those close to him will ever see. The two are survivors and seeing the way their relationship develops made for a wonderful read. Their story is a nice way to end this series.

Morwenna and Russt
This was probably my favorite of The Alphas of the Underworld.
It was filled with lots of feels and spice!

This is the 8th, and final, book in this series of short, sexy reads. It’s packed full of emotional turmoil, angst, passion, and steam. Russt and Morwenna have a history that added some depth to this one that I really enjoyed. The story may be light on plot and heavy on steam, but this history made it seem like there was more plot than in the previous stories. It made my connection to these characters, and my investment in their relationship much stronger.
Ms. Bonds ended this series with a bang.
Amanda –
A great ending to a series. Unlike the other books in the series Morwenna and Russt grew up together and knew each other. A misunderstanding drove Russt away from Morwenna and he hated her because of lies her father told. Russt eventually sees the truth and they end up as a happily mated couple.

OMG this was a spicy romance MM. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. It was addicted. Russt and Morwenna they were childhood friends. It was deception and lies and it might ruined their romance night together, based on their past history. Will the truth out to be dynamic of drama in their lives. The turmoil was wild and pain of life and love.
I highly recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones

V.T. Bonds has saved the best for last. I adored that Morwenna and Russt had history and had a second chance at falling in love. Russt is Morwenna’s childhood crush. They were friends and neighbours and she pined after him for many years. Russt has become a vengeful and bitter Alpha who feels the loss of his murdered parents. He is determined to make the individuals involved in their deaths pay and Morwenna forms part of his revenge. In theory this sounds good, until his alpha and her omega vibes kick in and then its all about him protecting and breeding her.
If you love this world of ridiculously OTT alphas and very happy omegas who get to create blissful nests with the hoarded soft materials (heavy on spice and minimal storyline), then I cannot recommend Drowned by the Dreadnought more. I loved these two and their childhood bond. It didn’t take Morwenna too much effort to break through his harsh alpha exterior.
I’ve loved every book in this apocalyptic series and Morwenna and Russt do not disappoint.
Beast’s Beauty –
Of all the stories n this series, this is my fvorite. I have never been a fan of second chance or childhood love reconnections but this one was perfect. I love that Morwenna and Russt never lost their connection – things happend (her father) but they were truly mean to be.
I am not happy with the series ending but hopefully in the future will either get some additions or some holiday updates.

The final book of the series?! Nooooooo!! The only thing that is going to make it okay is knowing there is a new series coming out. I. Can’t. Wait.
This book is probably the “cutest” out of all of them.
An alpha who was told his omega didn’t want him. An omega left alone to be abused.
Dystopian world
Omegaverse
“Broken” omega
Feared Alpha
The one that got away
Heats & Bonds
5/5 ⭐️ Storyline
4/5 🌶️ Spiciness

Ahhh… this one hurts the heart. I was not ready for the deeper feels this one gave me. Talk about the ultimate betrayal. But then… you also get the ultimate freedom. All this within a small amount of time. Great addition to the series and not to be missed if you’ve been following this series.

This one started out a little harsh, but once some things cleared up, turned very sweet and hot. I was a little worried at first, but really shouldn’t have been, since the author has a way of making things better, even in the short amounts of time. Loved this story and how these two had a past friendship before running into each other a decade later. I’m happy with how things turned out. I’m also still loving this world. Some of the books have a little more world-building than others, but I’ve loved them all. This is a great series for when you need something with low-angst, but plenty of heat.

I loved this book so much; I hated that I already finished reading it! Morwenna and Russt are my favorite couple from this series. This one had me wishing for their story to be longer, but I also loved how it differed slightly from the other books in the series. I loved how V.T. Bonds wrote their backstory into this book, and the ending was so sweet. Throughout this series, I am amazed how V.T. Bonds could throw so much into a short story and yet leave me begging for more. She’s such a talented and beautiful author. I love how real she makes her characters and how your heart melts for all of them.
A captivating read, simply a fantastic finale to a brilliantly written series full of Alpha action and Omega passion. Russt and Morwenna had been childhood friends; he had cared for his “Little Mouse” since they had played with each other. He was much older and larger, being a growing Alpha, while she was a young Omega. He had rescued her in the marketplace, fighting off three full-grown Betas even though he had been barely thirteen years old. The scar on his face was a constant reminder of the day he had saved Morwenna. His family had been murdered, and he had been warned away by her Alpha father.
Morwenna had never gotten over the love of her life, Russt. Her mother died soon after he had left her, and her Alpha father had become a monster. He had beaten and starved her, keeping her locked away in conditions not fit for an animal. Then the day came when he was finally going to do away with her for good! Morwenna had gotten used to the fact that no one ever came to help her as the horrific beatings and such occurred. She had given up on her savior, Russt, and knew she could rely on one person only, and that had to be herself.
Then she ran from the only home she had ever known, knowing full well that murdering an Alpha was a crime that could be punished by death. Who would have believed that in her fright and flight, she had run into the arms of the Dreadnought? The Dreadnought had only one thing on his mind, and that was to seek retribution for his family, and that would be via Morwenna’s hide. She would pay, and he would ensure that she would pay dearly.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications. Keep up all the wonderful writing, V.T. Bonds! The Knottiverse series continues with the Dreadnought, and he is just as dominant as previous Alphas and just as captivated by his Omega. While the author says light on the plot, I found this plot to be more substantial than previous novellas but certainly not lacking in steam. There is definite growth in the characters, and the story packs a punch in emotions and provocative concepts. This series is a must for all fans of omegaverse, dystopian romance tales. This was an awesome finale to this spicy series. Russt and Morwenna were childhood friends who were torn apart due to deception and lies. He’s initially out for revenge, but that changes after he discovers the truth. Morwenna forgave him quickly, but she’s still an Omega and bound to her dynamic—and their past. The steam between them only got hotter as their relationship moved into something real and not revenge-driven. A very spicy read, and I’m sad it’s the last of the series.

Russt, Dreadnought Alpha & Morwenna. Childhood Sweethearts. This one does have more violence, trauma, and abuse but it doesn’t have really steamy sexy scenes. I like the happy ending and the care and compassion from the Alpha Russt, The Dreadnought to his childhood sweetheart omega Morwenna, aka Little Mouse.
I received a complimentary copy from BookFunnel to voluntarily leave an honest review.

Just the kind of darkness and pain and suffering ameliorated by hope and love that I love to see and have come to expect from the brilliant, awesome, talented V.T. Bonds. Morwenna barely survives one deadly encounter before she runs head first into her first love who seems to hate her for some reason. There’s a lot to unpack, a lot of pain to work through, and a lot of healing to do. I think what I love most about this story is that it feels like coming home. The stories don’t overlap or intersect like in the Alpha Elite. There is no building toward a finale no one expected. There’s only each couple defying the odds, finding each other, and fighting for their slice of happiness in a nightmare of a reality. I don’t know how V.T. manages to keep things so interesting book after book, series after series, but it’s never dull. I never get enough. And I always love each book more than the last. But they’re always excellent without exception. This was a great series and I am sad to see it go. I do look forward to whatever new and exciting adventure is next for V.T. to take her readers on. Fantastic as always!

Drowned by the Dreadnought was an amazing story and quick read. The story has great character building and sizzling scenes. I enjoyed reading Drowned by the Dreadnought and meeting the hero and heroine of this wonderful world. This book hit the ground running with plot, main characters and action. There is a ton of steam throughout this yummy book to keep it interested. Kudos to the author creating such an amazing world and fantastic story. Highly recommending reading the book.

Good short spicy read, this one is different from the others in the knottiverse as the alpha an omega knew each other. Good characters, these teasers always leave me wanting more.
